CrunchPad Review - This iPad Killer is AWESOME!!!

In an effort to beat the iPad release, Michael Arrington (TechCrunch Editor & Serial Entrepreneur) and his CrunchPad team, finally released their solution to the iPad with a D-I-Y kit.  He did it with time to spare and the consumer in mind.  I believe this will spawn huge buzz, startups will be created to build mass amounts of CrunchPads and APIs will be available after you're done reading this post.

The CrunchPad kit is hot right now and only $49 + $5 shipping.  Arrington expects to sell $44,000 worth of the kit immediately and afterward raise the price, but not by much.  It will still be much lower a price than the iPad.  Here’s my review of the kit to make your own iPad killer.

This will blow the iPad out of the water at a fraction of the cost with the following features:

    1.       Cost - $49 versus $499

    2.       HTML 5 & Flash

    3.       4G Connectivity

    4.       Web cam (if your laptop screen comes with one)

    5.       Larger hard drive (possibly)

    6.       Multitasking (a definite plus)

    7.       We can skin it easily

    8.       Easily upgrade screen size up to 17 inch

    9.       You can write apps for it easily and not go through the Apple approval process (.NET apps are now an option – YAY)!

    10.   Everything the iPad doesn’t do.

    11. PC & MAC Compatible

The only problems I have with the kit are the following:

    1.       Bulky – maybe version 2 will be thinner

    2.       Nanobots scare the crap out of me

    3.       Self adjusting touch sensor replacement cost

    4.       Radioactive shield replacement cost

Will you buy your kit today or wait for the next version of the kit?

Watch this video and order your kit right away.
